The donation was handed at a ceremony which took place at the Nfon’s palace. The donation  comprised  school bags, books, pens, pencils, rulers, Maths Sets, writing boards, erasers,  among other things.

The ceremony to hand over the items started with a word of prayer from the Clergy followed by the singing of the Bafaw anthem led by the Bafaw Traditional Council with its Chairman, Eseme Moses Akwo, at the helm.

Addressing the beneficiaries, the  Nfon of kumba and Paramount Ruler of the Bafaws, began by laying emphasis on the importance of education. He challenged beneficiaries to take their studies seriously. Nfon Mukete IV  Ekoko  remarked that:” Take your studies seriously.  You are the future not only for the Bafaw tribe but the entire Cameroon nation. Education is knowledge and knowledge is the key. With education, the sky is your limit”.

The Nfon  asked the children to concentrate in studying the sciences. To the Nfon of kumba and Paramount Ruler of the Bafaws, the future is bright for Bafaw sons and daughters.

” who knows, there may even be a President in future among you here,” the Nfon said. The statement was highly saluted by the beneficiaries and all present at the courtyard of the Nfon’s Palace.

He enjoined all present to join him to thank the Almighty God for allowing schools to effectively kick off this year in the trouble-hit North West and South West regions.

This he said, is one of the fallouts of an Ecumenical Service for peace  which held recently at the Kumba Amusement Park. He expressed satisfaction that both sides in the conflict have decided to allow children pursue education which has been hampered in the last four years of the socio-political crisis.
