Kumba II Council Donates To Physically-challenged

Some four Physically-challenged persons in kumba II Sub division, Meme division, South West region have received walking aid from the Kumba II Council.
The donation was done on Tuesday, October 13, at the Courtyard of the council premises in Fiango, presided at by the Mayor of the kumba II Jacob Mbachu Kay in the presence of the Divisional Officer of kumba II Sub division, Edwin Nkenya Ngwana.
The four beneficiaries are inhabitants of the kumba II Municipality. Three of them received hand crutches while a blind was handed a white Cane.
These items would greatly assist them to move from one place to the other in their daily businesses. According to the Mayor, Mbachu Jacob Kay, the gift is a Minimum Package from the Ministry of Social Affairs in collaboration with the council.
On his part, the Divisional Officer of kumba II Sub division in, Edwin Nkenya Ngwana, called on the beneficiaries to make maximum use of the items to overcome their physical challenges while noting that, physical disability is not inability.
The beneficiaries expressed utmost joy for the gesture and prayed the council should continuously come to the aid of Physically-challenged persons in the municipality; a thing the Mayor Kay , said the council would not relent its efforts when means are available. He thanked the Minister of Social Affairs and hope more would come to assist the physically handicapped persons in his municipality not only from the tutelage ministry but from Groups and persons of goodwill. The beneficiaries left the courtyard of the council premises on a satisfactory note.
