Meme SDO Orders Contractors to Respect Project Deadline

Contractors executing two major projects in kumba, Chief Town of Meme division, have been told to execute their contracts on time and in compliance with the specifications of their respective projects.

The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO for Meme division, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong, was in the field Thursday, November 19 to assess the execution of these projects since the start of works.

The project sites include the construction of Wards and other structures at the Kumba District Hospital after an arson attack left the hospital completely devastated and  a Kumba City Municipal Grandstand to host some 1,200 persons.

At each stop, the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme took time to see for himself the level of work done and received briefings from the respective Contractors.

He was told in both cases that, the major challenge is additional finances especially at the Kumba District Hospital which he promised to channel to the concerned ministerial department for consideration and prompt action.

At the kumba city Municipal Grandstand, Ntou’ou Ndong was informed by the contractor that the execution rate was over 56% but the Meme divisional boss frowned at the slow pace of execution and called on the contractor to sit up and ensure that work is completed within the specified duration; a thing which he promised to do in two months from now.

Some adjustments as to the staircases were made and the Kumba City council Mayor, Gregory Mewanu, reassured him that would be done.

These two major projects are of great concern to the population of kumba in particular and Meme division in general. It is the wish of the population to see these projects are executed within the shortest possible time in order to be put into use immediately.
