Local Dev’t Ministry Embarks On Mass Sensitisation

The Ministry of Decentralisation and Local Development has launched an initiative aimed at getting information closer to the people on major mutations in government’s decentralisation policy.
This was during a recent exchange between Minister Elanga Obam and journalists.
The mass sensitisation sites include social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Website.
While presenting the applications to newsmen, the Director of Communication and Public Relations in the Ministry of Local Development, Ikome Paul, explained how each app functions and the content to be posted regularly on all.
The institutional website of the ministry is www.minddevel.gov.cm. on twitter it is accessible through the address: Minddevel. So far, the twitter page counts over 20,000 followers. The official facebook page can be accessed through; Ministere de la Decentralisation et du Developpement Local.
Some vital information published on these sites relates to the ongoing decentralization process in the country, the pioneer regional election, special status education, explaining key concepts involved in the decentralisation chain and so on.
Minister Georges Elanga Obam in his opening speech said his ministry was ready to collaborate with media houses to foster the effective sensitisation of government efforts to accelerate decentralization in the country.
