New Kumba Police Boss Task To Fight Insecurity, Illicit Trade

Police  Superintendent, Mbode Charles Armand has  taken up  functions as   the pubic security  boss of Kumba, Meme division, South  West region with a charge to fight  insecurity and illicit trade.

A ceremony to this effect took place on Friday, April 9. This was at the esplanade of the Kumba I District Police Station in kumba Town.

The ceremony was  presided  at by the regional delegate of national security for the South West with the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme division, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong, in attendance.

The new police  boss for Kumba takes over from Wilson Elong Njumenjikang, promoted  to the post of regional delegate of National Security for the North West by a Presidential decree of March 18, 2021.

Before his appointment, the new commissioner of Police for the kumba Central Police Station was the Chief of Service for exploitation at the Permanent Secretariat of the Disciplinary Council.

The ceremony was done in strict respect of the barrier measures put in place by the World Health organization, WHO, and the government of Cameroon  against the deadly COVID-19.

Mbode Charles Armand,  is expected  to use his experience to surmount the rising insecurity and crime rate in the city of Kumba and fight against the incursion of Separatist fighters from neighbouring villages.

The new Commissioner of Police will be assisted by Senior Superintendent of Police, Ndoumbe Eric Lazare, formerly Commissioner of Public Security in the town of Mutengene in Tiko Sub division.

The population is optimistic that the change at the helm of the Kumba Police command would bring a fresh impetus in the protection of lives and property.
